TUTORING / ACADEMIC MANAGEMENTCreated by Dr. Franklin over 20 years ago, Academic Management is a unique hybrid of traditional tutoring and educational therapy. Drawing on the best practices from both of these fields, as well as the latest findings in education, psychology and neuroscience, Academic Management comprehensively addresses students’ academic, organizational, and social-emotional needs. Academic Management uses a strength- and relationship-based approach to help students achieve the three components of school success, which we refer to as the Golden Three: learn the content taught in school, develop study and organizational skills, and improve test scores and grades. Our efficacy-proven strategies not only improve our students’ learning outcomes, but also promote their overall academic and personal growth, giving students the confidence they need to be successful in and out of the classroom. Academic Management is customized to the needs and interests of each student. These individualized programs help all types of students, from those with learning and behavioral challenges to those who are high achieving. For instance, some of our students need daily support in all their classes, while other students need help with individual tests or assignments. We collaborate with you to determine the best educational plan for your child. Academic Management is provided by highly specialized tutors called Certified Academic Managers. They are gifted and experienced educators who have undergone our extensive certification program and who receive regular evaluations and retraining. Through intensive collaboration with Dr. Franklin, Certified Academic Managers carefully individualize lessons to engage, educate, and empower each of their students. In addition to ensuring that homework is completed on time and tests and quizzes are prepared for, Certified Academic Managers seek to develop each student’s organization, time management, communication, and advocacy skills. Based on your child’s needs, we develop a schedule that makes sense for your family, and we’ll maintain constant communication regarding your child’s progress. We also communicate with allied professionals and schools as needed. Your child may receive Academic Management in your home or at our Learning Center in Brentwood. Academic Management will help your child:
