Building academic self confidence is an important step towards academic success. Getting good grades while in school is very important, whether it's junior high, high school, or college. Setting yourself up to succeed in school is a huge stepping stone towards success for the rest of your life. You will have many more choices throughout life; such as, where to go to college and which job to accept. Make a list of goals that you would like to achieve while you are in school. Think of which areas that need to be improved and continue on a daily basis to work on them. Get more involved in the classroom discussion; sit in the front row; ask questions when uncertain of the teacher's discussion; study thoroughly for tests; stay after class to talk to the teacher if you need to; and of course stay up to date on homework assignments. Once you realize that you too can be successful in school, you will boost your academic self confidence, and hopefully enjoy school throughout the rest of your school-age years.
