Study skills begin in the classroom.
Of course thinking about the weekend is a lot more fun than school, but try to focus on what the teacher is talking about rather than daydreaming. So, on the weekend, less time will be needed to do the homework and projects. It will be much easier since you already understand what the teacher wants of you. Complete all homework and assignments prior to class. Try to go over all notes taken. Try to participate in class. Most of all, have a positive attitude. It takes time to build good study skills, but practice makes perfect. The more you study, the better your skills at studying become.
Study skills continue with homework.
To keep your mind fresh. Study for short periods of time and then take a break. Study for periods of 15-20 mins, then take a 5 min. break and then continue. Set time aside to do homework and assignments. Before you sit down to study, set goals as to what needs to be accomplished. Begin with the most difficult homework first since your mind will be fresh. Unless you need to discuss homework with friends, try to not answer your phone while studying.
