Some of my favorite moments in teaching have come when a student finally figures out how to solve a tricky algebra problem, or improves an essay through careful revising. Watching a student make progress is deeply rewarding. Sometimes, solving students’ problems with study skills can be a simple matter of changing one thing (making sure the student has a clean backpack; ensuring that the student has a daily planner with which to track assignments). Other times, it can be the interaction of several factors. I work closely with the student and parents to ensure that the issue is properly diagnosed and treated so the student can take full advantage of everything school has to offer.
